The Portland Trust is committed to promoting peace and stability between Palestinians and Israelis through economic development.

Training

In partnership with GTZ, The Portland Trust developed a comprehensive three year
training programme for small and microentrepreneurs to equip them with the essential skills they need to start and grow new business ventures. This initiative is part of our commitment to support the microfinance sector in the Palestinian Territories.. The training programme is based on international standards but tailored to Palestinian needs. The Sharek Youth Forum will provide the enterprise training and business development courses by CEFE certified Palestinian trainers. A pilot project, with 120 microentrepreneurs, was launched in February 2008.

The Portland Trust is also looking to partner with the Education for Employment Foundation to develop an Engineering Training and Job-Placement Program.
