Gaza Private Sector Rapid Recovery
The Portland Trust is developing a programme to support the recovery of the private sector in the Gaza Strip. Two scenarios are being considered - viable projects that could be started under the current conditions and longer term initiatives that can boost the economy when conditions allow.
The Portland Trust signed a contract with a local Gaza based consultant to manage the project on the Trust's behalf, coordinating with Palestinian Federation of Industries (PFI) and the Palestine Agricultural Relief Committee (PARC). Initiatives in agriculture and local tourism are being developed.
